Langford Pendulums
Pendulums (dowsing) have been used for thousands of years to find underground water supplies, mineral deposits, and determining the gender of a baby before birth. Many cultures are known to "dowse" with pendulums. Sages and mystics use them for fortune telling. It is said that your pendulum will not lie to you if you sincerely ask it a yes/no question. For example my personal pendulum spins clockwise for a Yes answer and counterclockwise for No.
A pendulum can be made of just a string with a weigh on one end.
Langford Pendulums are far more elaborate, functional, and ornate.
Langford Pendulums incorporate stone with metaphysical properties, precious metals, and many other valuable features such as "handles".
Langford Pendulums have 3 distinct parts. The "Handle", the "Body", and the "Head". This Trinity makes all 3 parts equal and necessary to complete a functioning spiritual tool.
The "Handle" of a dowsing pendulum is the point where your body physically comes into contact with the pendulum. Like "tires on a car". Many people believe that certain stones / crystals can facilitate the transmission of knowledge / allow access to higher knowledge. All Handles on Langford Pendulums use stone or crystal to bring you into contact with your device.
Example:This Handle features 14k gold beads and tubes, 1 Amber bead, Lapis Lazuli beads and Hematite tube spacers.
The "Body" of a dowsing pendulum is the flexible area connecting the Handle and the Head. The Body needs to be free swinging and unrestricted. Some Langford Pendulums include swivels to connect the Body to the other parts. This allows for maximum swing and avoids any binding. The length of the Body is a personal choice for each individual. 1 1/2" inches in length is all that is required but some pendulums have a Body over 1' foot long.
Example:This Body features Lapis Lazuli beads and 14k gold beads, links, and jump rings.
The "Head" of a dowsing pendulum can be the simplest of weights, a rock tied on the end of a string. Langford Pendulums use brass, silver, stone, and other interesting materials. The Head needs to be weighty enough to "feel" at the end. Some people believe that heavy is better. I believe the weight of the Head is really a personal choice.
Example:This Head features a Lapis Lazuli bead, 14k gold swivel and jump rings, and a brass weight.
